Born into a financially struggling family of Scheduled Caste background, Vaishali's father works as a daily wage laborer and is the sole breadwinner for a family of seven. Despite countless hardships and limited resources, Vaishali remained determined to pursue higher education and build a better future for herself and her family.

Vaishali is now in her final year of B.Sc. Nursing programme and requires ₹50,000 to cover her examination fees, academic expenses, study materials, and other educational requirements necessary to continue her course. This is after she has been promised a grant of Rs. 50,000 by Prof. Ashok Gupta of Ohio, U.S. and Rs. 27,000 that will be arranged by her family. Her annnual tution fees is Rs. 1,15,000. In addition she is required to pay an examination fees of Rs. 12,000.
