RESPONSIBILITIES :
Software configuration and maintenance,
Security management,
Database-level change control,
Backup and recovery,
Tuning,
IT developer technical assistance and consulting.
Appropriate and effective usage of database, OLTP transaction processing, messaging, and related application-enabling technologies;
Effective, efficient, scalable, and high-performance databases, enterprise messaging infrastructure, and applications; and
Reliable databases, messaging infrastructure and other application-enabling middleware, that meet the customer's requirements for fault tolerance, planned availability service levels, and recoverability service levels.
Primary customers of the DTMA group are the Enterprise Applications groups. Partner and peer-level service delivery relationships with the other teams with IT Enabling Services and IT Enterprise Operations.
Basic Requirements:
(Indicate MINIMUM qualifications for the job; should be SPECIFIC and MEASURABLE.)
1. Bachelor’s Degree or at least 4 years of IT Teradata Database Administration experience
2. At least 2 years of IT experience including at least 1 year of IT Database Administration experience

2. Bachelors Degree in IT or Computer Science preferred
3.Hands-on experience as a full-lifecycle Database Administrator, on one or more of the following DBMSs: Oracle, SQL Server, Informix, Rdb, IBM UDB, z/OS DB2 and z/OS IMS.
4. Certification as a DBA or related specialist by Oracle, Microsoft, or IBM is also desirable. This includes database development, deployment, and change management; database security administration; ongoing backup/recovery, and monitoring and management.
5. Database and messaging modeling and design and implementation, and skill with one or more data modeling tools and methodologies.
6. Teradata design, coding, and tuning; and application/database tuning and performance management.
7. Database and messaging infrastructure operational support and troubleshooting, and DBMS software maintenance and patching.
8. Hands-on experience with supporting database and messaging deployments on one or more of the following server platforms: Unix, Linux, Windows, z/OS, or OpenVMS. This includes usage of editors, scripting, clustering technologies, security, and networking.
9. Hands on experience as an administrator for IBM MQseries and/or Websphere Message Broker, on one or more server platforms.
10. Hands-on experience supporting databases and database infrastructure for one or more of the following ERP Suites: PeopleSoft, Oracle, Baan.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This includes the ability to solve complex technical problems that may involve multiple technology layers, including: databases, messaging, operating systems, application servers, programming languages, and other middleware.
12. Strong verbal and written communication skills; for peer, customer, and vendor-support liaison and integration work
