Carolinas' Oktoberfest event report & upcoming

Saturday was a very well-attended event in the SC upstate with people
traveling from all points in both North and South Carolinas. We're
not sure who traveled the longest distance. :)

The weather could not have been better. Additional seating was needed
to be brought out to the patio. The hot tub was very well used.
Wine and beer tasting was at not only indoors but outside as well and
was quite varied. For those who don't drink, we also had a variety of
Ginger Ale and Root Beer. The variety of Bavarian foods and desserts
was again fantastic. We definitely have a group of great cooks.
Lynn's home is a fantastic Travelites' destination, and the
hospitality is very much appreciated.

Photos will be uploaded to the Travelites' Yahoo group later this week
for those who were unable to attend.

The next event is on Saturday, October 16th - Founder's Day
celebration (celebrating the birthday of this club's founder) will
begin @ 4pm at our property in Hopkins, SC with snacks and hot
tubbing. At about 6, we'll carpool to Doc's Gumbo Grill on Rosewood
in Columbia. After dinner (they've the best she-crab soup), we'll
return to Hopkins for birthday cake and more hot tubbing. You are
welcom to attend some or all of the festivities. There will be no
event fees charged, but we will request you sign in.

I need to know by Tuesday, October 12th so we have reservations at the
restaurant.


I have confirmed October 30th - Halloween - at Sunair with the
property's owner (Ms. Evelyn). Not only will we be enjoying the
costume contest and pumpkin carving, but we will be celebrating Uncle
Henry's life at this 11th anniversary of his passing. Please let me
know if you are going to be attending this event as we need to have
enough pumpkins for carving. You must arrive before dark so we can
park for easy exiting. There is no lighting in the parking areas.
The food for this night is heavy hors d'ouvres.
