Members and friends from the Carolinas and Georgia gathered to have a
fantastic Spring Fling under warm, partial liquid sunshine skies.
Some interesting patterns were created when tie dying not only tshirts
and an athletic shirt but also in the creation of a pareo (wrap).
.
The snacks ranged from cheese & garlic crackers to the garlic/spinach
dip to the mini cinnamon pastry. The dinner was absolutely YUMMY with
London broil, macaroni & cheese, steamed vegetables, homemade garlic/
cheese bread, salad with an array of dressings, and for dessert,
brownies with 2 different flavors of ice cream were available.
.
The hot tub was at a perfect temperature as we took turns relaxing. It
was a perfect event. For some who could not make it, we wish Terry &
Paul congratulations on the arrival of their fifth grandchild and
others due to health and other reasons who had to miss the fun.
.
The next event will the our Low Country Boil in Ridgeway on April 9th
@3:30. The recipe includes 6 lbs. shrimp, 3 lbs.smoked beef sausage,
and 10 ears of fresh corn. We still need 4 lbs. of large shrimp and
one package of smoked beef sausage (Hillshire Farms or Carolina Pride
are two of the available brands) as well as desserts and sides such as
cole slaw. When you RSVP, please let us know what you will be
bringing.
.
This is followed by our club trip to Cypress Cove April 14-17. Some
are meeting in Hopkins to carpool, others are traveling solo. All
those joining in this fun will be given light-weight Travelites ball
caps so we can identify one another away from home. If you still
have not made your reservations and want to travel with us, there are
probably tent and RV spots available. Friday, April 15 some will be
traveling to the AANR office.
.
April 23rd is the next event. We will be celebrating Earth Day & the
5th annual Pioneer Days at which "bison" burgers will be grilled and
served with your si des and desserts. This will be the time to just
have fun. If you have a guitar come on out and have a pickin'
good time. The event is scheduled to start at @ 2:30 in Hopkins.
.
May 7th is World Naked Gardening Day for planting and Mexican Fiesta
including a battle with the pinata as well as the beginning of the
club's annual Auction to help raise funds for Sistercare, a charity
for abused women and their children, as well as the American Nudist
Research Library, AANR Education Foundation, and the Naturist Action
Committee. If you have something to donate to the club, please let us
know ahead of time so we can add your donation to the list. The
bidding can be done via email if you can't make the events for bidding
that continues until the club's Patriots' Party. We will be contacting
area merchants asking if they can help. In past years, we had
members donate plants, oil change, bottle of wine, gift cards, 2 hrs.
of honey-do time, plus from the area merchants, Pizza from Dano's on
Rosewood, to pizza from Domino's, Applebees dinners, Ruby Tuesday
dinners, Shoney's buffet, Cici's pizza buffet, merchandise
from nudist parks and resorts plus AANR and TNS merchandise.Let me
know if you can help this year.
