just a suggestion - would be cool if the landing page had some sort
of feed/menu where one could see what geographic locations are
populated with information on Socialect. Would encourage people to
post more about their locality as they would have the confidence that
people would see that they have posted something.

Similarly, maybe you can have a feature where the website will
identify someones IP or profile information and encourage them to post
about their locality. Kind of how Facebook recommends friends, groups,
events to join.

we have a way to see all locations with data at http://socialect.com/stats
. it's a hard balance - there's so much we want to put on the landing
page but in the end we decided that less is more and to give the user
as few choices as possible (we simplified it down to two choices -
post or see). if you can think of a way to include location stats on
the landing page without making it too complicated then we will
definitely include it.

great idea! we have an algorithm in socialect that guesses your
location based on your IP and in the next release we will also let
users enter their location in their profile. it wouldn't be very
difficult to prompt users to post things around their coordinates.

How does one get to the stats page? I did not see any links on the
landing page.

We removed links to the stats page from the landing page to keep
things simple. The stats page is dynamic data (i.e. each time you add
something to socialect it will be updated automatically) so we can
really add stats to any page on socialect, not just the landing page.
Any suggestions?
