Daniel, and all,
It is my understanding that the Social Credit group
long maintained by William B Ryan experienced some technical
difficulties in mid-2013 ~ the nature or which I do not know ~ and this
apparently prevented him from being able to continue to moderate this
group.
Since then, many members have expressed a desire
that it continue if the problems could be resolved. That resolution has
been slow in coming, and it was not clear whether it ever would be
coming.
After many months with no apparent progress, Jim
Schroeder, a long time list member, and with Wally Klinck the co-author of the
excellent article on 'Social Credit' that appears on Wikipaedia,
expressed interest in starting a new group. I was invited to join, and I
have done so. Obviously others have, or have been invited to,
too.
Just subsequent to that, I received two messages
from Bill Ryan, one as a test to see if the original group was again
functional, and a second briefly re-counting a message from Google that had
previously prevented his continuation as moderator when he tried to resume that
function. I am obviously still a member of that group, too, since the
reply I sent has re-appeared in my inbox.
Now it appears we have two groups operational at
the same time ~ and it is not for me to say what the resolution to that anomaly
should be. That can be decided by the two moderators. As can be the
make-up of the respective lists memberships.
For myself, I am quite willing to discuss Social
Credit with anyone who wants to discuss it with me on either or both of these
lists, and I look forward to being able to read the offerings of all
others, even of those with whom I'll no doubt continue to
disagree, in the same place or places.
Sincerely,
Joe Thomson
