What exactly is ValidatedId in the userprofile ?

Sorry if this is a repeat question. I recently started using social-auth for facebook and twitter logins for my project. I am getting user profile and getting validated-id as the unique way to identify loggedin user. I wanted to find out if that is good enough or should I use some other variable. And what exactly is this validated id ?
