Affective Neuroscience Lab at the Department of Psychology of the University of Innsbruck (Austria) is considering applications for a funded 4-year PhD or PostDoc position starting from 1st of June 2025. The PhD/PostDoc student will contribute to a project funded by the Austrian Science Fund. The DEACON (DEcoding Affective CONtrol) project investigates emotion regulation as a key transdiagnostic mechanism influencing mental health. By understanding the neural and psychological underpinnings of emotion regulation, DEACON aims to develop innovative, evidence-based strategies for preventing mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. The project employs advanced neuroimaging techniques and ecological momentary assessment to bridge the gap between laboratory research and real-life emotional experiences.
