Greetings from ISPSW!

With great pride and privilege, we are pleased to invite you to attend the 40^th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Professional Social Workers (ISPSW) at the Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, Chandigarh on 27^th - 28^th May 2022.

The name of Chandigarh ‘the city beautiful’, is derived from the Goddess of power ‘Chandi’ whose temple (Chandi Mandir) is on Chandigarh-Kalka road. Situated at the edge of Shivalik Hills and planned by famous French architect Le Corbusier. Today Chandigarh is pioneer in many respects and is making steady progress in all directions. It is fast emerging as a hub of socio-economic growth, as a knowledge city, a tourist attraction with social and physical structure.

The theme of the conference, ‘Co-building a New Eco-Social World: Leaving No One Behind in Indian Perspective’, is retained in concordance with the theme of World Social Work Day 2022 which “presents a vision and action plan to create new global values, policies and practices that develop trust, security and confidence for all people and the sustainability of the planet”. It “will be a highlight opportunity for the social work profession to engage all social work networks and the community they work within to make contributions to the values and principles which enable all people to have their dignity respected through shared futures”. The theme of the conference is pertinent in Indian perspective and expected to benefit academicians, students, Social work and professionals irrespective of the area they are working in. The deliberations by the eminent professionals on the theme are expected to enrich our knowledge and provide directions to develop an opportunity to building back a more equal and sustainable world which was put on hold in times of COVID-19 pandemic. The award papers and free papers will further strengthen the whole scientific program. There will be Workshop, Symposium, and ‘Invited lecture’ on current social and health or mental health issues. Poster session, social event, book release will be organized to make the conference live.  

We are sure that the rich scientific program and the City Beautiful will encourage you to attend the conference and participate actively. We eagerly look forward to welcome you.

We sincerely apologise for the short notice for this event which was scheduled to be held in the month of Feb. at the Department of Psychiatric Social Work AVBIMS-DrRML Hospital New Delhi but in some unavoidable circumstances, they have expressed their inability to host it.
