NGOs receiving funds from Govt. of Odisha( Bulletin-30)
Office of the District Welfare Officer, Koraput District
Dear friends
Many people from different sections have requested me to put in public domain about NGOs/ corporate house backed NGOs/ Delhi-based NGOs / NGOs promoted by bureaucrats mainly IAS officers funded by State Govt. to carry out development projects in the state. In fact, many corporate bodies have formed their own NGOs and taking huge amount of fund from Govt. in the name of their NGOs influencing or bribing the state bureaucracy. Similarly, many Delhi-based NGOs who do not have any experience or any infrastructure in the state have been awarded big volume of fund from state Govt. to carry out various welfare works. Many IAS officers, political leaders and Govt. itself have promoted their own NGOs engaging their relatives to get fund from Govt. in the name of awareness programme or welfare activities.
In my pursuit of understanding functioning of the NGOs in the state and funds provided to them for various works, I had submitted RTI on dt. 26.2.13 to 12 important Departments to get the information about it. After receiving my application, The PIO, Department of Revenue and Disaster Management forwarded my application to all departments. The PIOs of all Depts forwarded the same to their all subordinate offices to provide the information directly to me. In the meantime, I have received huge information about NGOs funded by Govt., MOU signed with them, period of work and amount already sanctioned. Keeping in view the voluminous information, I have decided to put in public domain in Public Authority-wise. So that the readers can spend less time to go through it and give their comments.
The information provided on 16.5.13 by office of the Chief District Medical Officer, Mayurbhanj District is as follows.
