Subject: Internship opportunities in the Philippines
To:
Hi all,
The organization I'm working for, Red Window Project, is looking for 3 fellows/interns this Fall. I wanted to pass this opportunity on to all of you who may be interested or may know of someone who is interested in doing something new. The deadline for the application is July 1, but we may be willing to extend it. Here are the details:
Red Window Project (
www.redwindow.org)
exists to facilitate a process of economic, social, and spiritual
reconciliation for survivors of trafficking and exploitation. Red Window
is providing a revolutionary new approach to trafficking aftercare by
focusing on training and equipping survivors to become economically
self-sufficient and effectively re-integrated into society. We
accomplish this by bringing together and supplementing existing services
available to survivors in Cebu. Working with local aftercare homes,
vocational training facilities, churches, counseling services, the
business community, the social welfare department and other
organizations we are able to coordinate holistic services that are
capable of reconciling each trafficking survivor with God, the economy
and their social environment. Our hope is to replicate this process in
many locations around the world, ending vicious cycles of repeat human
trafficking.
We
are looking to hire three fellows to start September 22, 2011; two
MSW's and one MBA (job descriptions are attached). The first one is actually to replace my job here in Cebu, helping with social program development. The other two hires are for an expansion
feasibility study in Manila. Essentially their jobs would
be to conduct six months of research that would provide the board with
information it needs to decide whether or not Red Window should invest
in an office in Manila. The research would also help us
understand how market differences there will change the way we operate.
For the business person, the number one competency we're looking for is
the ability to relate to people at all levels (from CEOs to shelter
house parents). Both people have to be self-starters with the maturity to manage the sensitivity of our work.
If this is something that interests you or you would like more information, please email me at: acol...@redwindow.org.
Thanks,
Amy Collins
