Hi Group!
A few months ago at one of our sessions we had a discussion about
burnout and service and several of us spoke of how, due to the
emotionally challenging nature of our jobs, it can be difficult to
find a life-giving way to serve the church. We discussed having a
desire to serve the church in a way utilizes our unique giftings but
serving in a way that does not completely mirror our jobs.
Katie and I have been talking recently about how we as a group can be
a resource to our church. With the growth of our church there has
also been a significant growth in diversity of needs within our church
body.
I’d love to start putting together a list of people in the social
services industry who are interested in being contacts for leaders
within our church who have questions about helping others in your
‘specialty’ area. Different populations/areas of need include (but are
not limited to) housing, benefits, drug abuse, the elderly, HIV, home
care, mental health, domestic violence, disabilities, foster care/ACS,
etc.
If you have any questions or are interested in being a part of this
please respond directly to me at

not reply to this email- it will shoot back to the entire group!) with
your phone number, email address, current job title/position, and your
areas of expertise.
