We are excited to share that applications are now open for The Great Indian Treasure Hunt – 8.0 (6-week edition), an immersive learning journey for young people who are curious about the world and eager to engage with real social change.
About the Program
The Great Indian Treasure Hunt is a transformative experiential learning journey where selected participants travel across different parts of India and live with grassroots organizations working on social and environmental challenges. Over the course of six weeks, participants immerse themselves in diverse communities, contribute to meaningful initiatives, and learn directly from changemakers and community leaders.
The journey is designed to challenge comfort zones, nurture leadership, and strengthen the ability to work in diverse teams. More than a travel program, it is an opportunity for young people to discover their potential and reimagine their role in shaping a compassionate and sustainable future.
Through community living, volunteering, reflective learning circles, and interactions with inspiring practitioners, participants develop skills in teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and resourceful living.
Program Details
📅 Dates: 15 March – 21 April 2026
🌏 Duration: 6 Weeks
🇮🇳 Locations: Across 4 states in India
👥 Eligibility: Youth aged 18–36 from diverse backgrounds
During the journey, participants will:
• Live and volunteer with grassroots organizations
• Travel across multiple states and experience India's cultural diversity
• Engage in social and environmental initiatives
• Participate in workshops, reflection circles, and mentorship sessions
• Build lifelong connections with peers and changemakers
Basic accommodation, meals, travel during the program, and mentorship support are arranged by Khoj to ensure participants can focus fully on learning and impact.
Scholarships
We believe that financial constraints should not limit participation. Multiple scholarship options are available, with support of up to 75% of the program cost based on financial need.
