Have you registered yet for #DisasterPrep2017? If not, we invite you to join us in the Philippines this March, where we'll move from reaction to resilience in a first-of-its-kind event with leadership on the front lines of disaster work. Registration closes on February 27th!

Check out the agenda here and meet a few of our speakers below:

Dr Walter J. Ammann, Founder and President of the Foundation Global Risk Forum GRF Davos and Chairman of the International Disaster and Risk Conference IDRC Davos, is our keynote speaker. He is an expert in integrative risk management and its applications to all kinds of natural hazards and technical risks. Climate change related hazards and risks, their adaptation and mitigation and their harmonization with disaster and risk reduction is of particular concern for him.

Wang Xingzui is the Executive Vice President of the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA), one of the oldest and largest NGOs in China and one of the few working outside the country. He has over two decades of experience in rural development and poverty alleviation. Under his leadership and team efforts, the Foundation has grown from a small, largely unknown organization to one that is well recognized and respected for its pioneering work and professionalism by governments, corporates, beneficiaries and peer NGOs both at home and abroad.

Kate Landry is Build Change's Director of Programs and Partnerships in the Philippines. She delivers on scope, schedule, and budget for Build Change’s innovative technical assistance and training projects, towards the organization’s strategic objective of impacting 10 million people in the next 10 years. Kate also leads UNISDR’s Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE) Urban Risk Reduction and Resilience work in the Philippines to unite the private and public sectors to reach targets of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Ipat Luna is the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary of the Philippines. She has been engaged in environmental law and policy practice for two decades. She has managed several foundations and organizations for the conservation of the environment and built local consensus on important policy decisions affecting natural resources. She is currently Executive Trustee of Pusod, Inc., and consultant for the Philippines Institute for Development Studies working on assessing the National Greening Program.

We hope you'll join us as we collaborate, identify new opportunities, and embolden innovation in disaster preparedness.  Take part in the conversation on social media using #DisasterPrep2017 to hear about exciting event and speaker updates.

We can't wait to see you in the Philippines.

Sincerely,
