After quitting AAP, Mayank Gandhi has initiated a rural transformation program called Global Parli. 15 villages have been selected in drought-prone Parli tehsil in Beed district in Maharashtra for 360 degree development. This would be a “model” development to create progressive, economically viable and prosperous rural India. This will serve as a transformative process (documented by IIT Mumbai) that can be replicated across the country for a prosperous India. The idea is to provide minimal material support, but instead encourage self-dependence and awareness to use existing government schemes and resources for development. Global Parli is not an NGO, but a platform to uplift a cluster of villages. We would like to invite NGOs from different domains to come and work directly for the villagers.

The mission demands work in varied fields like:

1.   Water resource management

2.   Agriculture

3.   Healthcare, sanitation and malnutrition

4.   Education

5.   Cottage industry

6.   Animal husbandry

7.   Skill development

8.   Sports

9.   Alcohol free villages

10. Gram Swaraj

11. Financial inclusion and digital villages

12. Alternative sources of energy

13. Governance and Participative Democracy

Within last 9 months, Global Parli has won the goodwill of the villagers with developmental activities including distribution of poultry and animals (goats) to encourage alternative sources of income, re-charging of 36 public bore wells, providing employment to 102 women through stitching bags, football and marathon training camps to engage youth etc. We now have a stronghold in the villages and will work as facilitators for the NGOs that wish to work on this mission. When we started off, the people were highly demotivated and cynical since they had suffered four droughts in six years. However, Global Parli has raised the spirits of the villagers and they are now enthusiastic and willing to work to improve their lives. We warmly invite you to work with this prepared community and use this platform of our 15 villages. Also, we promise you the best level of support possible from our team.

About Mayank Gandhi:  As a political reformist, he was instrumental in Right to Information Act, Nagar Raj Bill and pioneering the inclusion of citizen candidates in electoral politics. He was one of the leading lights of the path breaking 'Anna Movement' before becoming a member of the national executive of the Aam Aadmi Party and the in-charge of Maharashtra. Having quit active politics, Mayank has embarked on a mission to rejuvenate rural India with the ambitious “Global Parli” project.
