BBC volunteers

Hi All

Prompted by John at New Forest , I asked BBC Outreach about the idea of BBC staff volunteering at their local surgery (ie not just the one at MediaCity).  See below. We can of course, just point people to the surgery site, but if people have a specific need, maybe we can collate them here and feed them back to BBC Outreach?

Your point is a very good one and certainly there doesn’t seem to be any reason why we couldn’t encourage staff across the BBC to sign up for surgeries across the country – if you can let us have a list of forthcoming dates and venues Jo will add it to our volunteering newsletter and internal website. (This would mean that potential volunteers would come to us in the first instance and we’d then pass them on to you – all we’d ask in return is that you could let us know if they do participate so we can record them).

Thanks for following up on my enquiry Steven. I'm going to hang fire for the moment though and will pick it up again in the new year when I've a little more time on my hands. I'm up to my ears in website reviews that need completing and a finite deadline to boot!
