Hi Interns.
Welcome to the iLogo Google group. I am Ankita Rajan, an intern at
iLogo as well. As a part of my two month long summer internship, I
will be coordinating the promotional activities of the contest
mentioned below. The Social Media Evangelist circuit will also be
coordinated by me. I look forward to a good two months of hard work
and dedication to make this contest huge!
iLogo, in collaboration with Enerzal, is organizing an All-India Cool
College T-Shirt design contest. With this contest we aim at bringing
out the passion that students hold for their college, straight into T-
Shirt designs. Students need to design t-shirts representational of
their feelings for their college and what their college stands for.

The winning designs would get:
a) Total prize money of over Rs. 2,00,000, with the first prize being
Rs 1,00,000.
b) 100 T-Shirts each for the top 3 winners
c) An opportunity for their design to be printed
d) Over a lakh viewership of their T-Shirt designs
e) Media coverage
f) A chance to be the star of their college.

You can check our Facebook Page for a better understanding of what we
do: http://www.facebook.com/ilogo.org
Also, visit our official iLogo page and check out the competitions
we’ve organized in the past: http://ilogo.in/

As Social media Evangelists, your job would be:
a) to suggest viral promotional strategies for the contest
b) execute the same, simultaneously
c) expand the circle of social-media evangelists
d) Create a buzz in your college
e) Get 50 designs from your circles uploaded

Your first task in Category a. would be as follows.

TASK:1

1. Like the iLogo Facebook page for updates at http://www.facebook.com/ilogo.org
2. Get all friends likely to participate in this contest to join the
FB page
3. Brainstorm on the following questions:
a) How would we generate maximum participation from students?
b) How would you reach out to them?
c) Can you think of methods of online promotions apart from Facebook,
Twitter and promotional emails to database?
d) Websites where we could post about our events and gain coverage.
Attach links of the same here.
e) For this event to pull participation, it needs to come across as a
cool contest to participate in. Apart from the prize money, what other
motivation would you give students to make this the coolest college
contest of the year!

While you’re at it, you could also work on Category c. Inform your
friends about this work-from-home internship. Get them to join in if
they’re interested and try expanding this network.

Kindly revert back with creative ideas by 12:00 p.m. on 13th June,2012

Regards.

Hi Abhijeet.
I am aware of colleges being shut around this time. All I want you to do is, think of ways of promotions. Lets work on our plans as of now and get to something concrete and impactful. Execution can be taken care of later.

So how do you think we could get across to college students across the country and not only get them to like our page but send in entries as well?

Hi Abhijeet.
We do not have any registration fees for the contest. Please go through the Facebook event page, understand the task given in the Google group and revert back.
You are expected to suggest publicity plans and execute the same.

Hi
Here are a few tips on Social Media Marketing
1> creation of a facebook discussion page( not the like one) ,
especially for the event with all the details
2> some private colleges have fests in july, catch them up
3> Posts and advertise on sites like www.letmeknow.com www.internshala.com
www.letsintern.com
4>start up a kick off event....

Can i get some rough brief about the audience to be targeted , amount
to be dealt , any funds allotted for it and the scope of event, we are
looking 4?
secondly, viral marketing as we are discussing is always an outcome
never a type of marketing ... Specifically, there are no controls a
firm can have to ' as such viral-market its product'.!

Hi
I agree with Ayush.
The events page is not happening. We should come up with a more creative and interactive facebook page, post blogs about college fun and what makes them love their college. We can also run online polls like "Which college is the best?"

Hi Interns.
The Facebook Event Page was created just to get started. That is not how it is going to remain. These are the things we need to do:
1.  Work on how the page looks in terms of content as well as visual appearance. It needs to look exciting and engaging which would be the first step in making this the coolest college contest. The page should bring out that it is a very youth oriented contest- extremely peppy and fun!

2. Regular discussions on the page based on college related topics such that it instigates students to post. This will help create the much needed buzz.

3. We will conduct mini-contests on regular basis- weekly or bi-weekly as a build up to the final contest. We will give off T-Shirts and other cool merchandize as prizes. Regular activities on the page will keep followers engaged and attract attention of their friends who haven't yet joined in.

4. Inspirational videos and articles need to be posted such that it instigates the passion in students to do something different for their college. Our tagline reads-"Let T-Shirts spread your story." Videos and articles that talk about groups of college students who have done something spectacular, could be shared. Thus getting across to other students to share their story as well.

5. We need to get more people to like our page. That shall happen once the above areas are worked on.

So lets get started. Brainstorm. I shall call each of you during the day and we shall discuss the same. Lets make this contest the coolest college of the year!

Cheers.
Ankita

Hi Guys,

I've been on the events page many times, checked the ilogo fb page too....but http://www.facebook.com/ilogo.org#!/ilogo.org is too confusing for people to shuffle up and down to find things about the competition.
1. The idea for a new fb page was cool....and then every college has a GROUP....that fb page should join these groups and advertise there.
2. The events page should show WHAT the event requires the contestants to do....all i get from that event page is...there is this prize winning event, thats it.
3. We can create a wikipedia page :D :P hehe......we can have a common account through which all of us can access the account. Wikipedia has an image which might help us.
4. I suggested ceating a blog, but dunno where to start off.....like what stuff to put in it.

There is a 'Invite people to like your page' tab on FB but only available to the admins. So if a group could be made for the contest named iLOGO and to the people in that group co-admin right could be given to the members, the likes could be increased and so do the awareness about the page.

Hi Utpala.
I appreciate the suggestions! Like I mentioned earlier, we need to work on the CONTENT of the Facebook Page which will include everything that you're talking about- what the event is, how to participate, deadline, rules and regulations, prizes, where to send in entries etc.
The iLogo Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/ilogo.org#!/ilogo.org that you're talking about is where we will be posting about the contest in order to inform our followers on the Page! The link of the event page http://www.facebook.com/events/279856595446380/ is the actual link you interns need to promote. Get your friends to participate in it.

We are starting a blog for which I need all of you to send in introductory articles. I shall explain the same in your next task.

Hi Satyavrit.
Yes I shall be sharing admin rights with the  interns as well so that you could invite more people to join the group. Also, we need to expand the social media evangelists group. Talk to your friends and get them to join in. We need content writers, bloggers, people with good software skills, interns for videography, people with good marketing skills.  Talk to your friends, see their interests and rope them in.

Check out this video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJ2VmUOobCQ
It is a promotional video for a short film contest by Mont Blanc. A promotional video like this for our contest would be a very good starter. Do any of you have av knowledge? Or do you have friends who could help us with a promotional video?
