Events Operations Associate
About the Position
The Events Operations Associate will join a team managing operations for the Net Impact Conference--our organization’s flagship event—and other events within our network. The conference brings together 2,500 students, professionals, exhibitors, and expert speakers in sustainability, corporate responsibility, and social innovation each year. The conference has a major role in Net Impact’s overall financial, branding, and member value proposition. Additionally, Net Impact is expanding its roster of in-person events beyond the conference, and this position will play an integral role in shaping the success of future signature events at the local and regional levels.
Reporting to the Events Operations Manager, the Events Operations Associate will contribute to the success of Net Impact events through event design and production, partner outreach, vendor sourcing and management, attendee communications, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Perform research, develop a robust list of leads, and complete outreach to secure 70+ impact-minded partner companies and organizations to exhibit at the Net Impact Conference Expo
• Curate and manage exhibitor leads in contacts database (Salesforce.com)
• Design, draft, and execute lively and effective attendee communications strategies and feedback mechanisms
• Source and manage vendors for printing, transportation, entertainment, and various other event logistics projects
• Manage relationships with external planning teams comprised of local Net Impact chapter members
• Support other events operations, including direct project management opportunities aligned with interests and skills
Required Qualifications
• BA or BS degree and 1-2 years professional experience, preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident and articulate when speaking by phone or in person
• Business development or direct sales experience a plus
• Experience building relationships with external stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and approach problems creatively
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented, dynamic environment
• Outstanding organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
• Can-do attitude
• Experience with contacts database (Salesforce.com or other) a plus
• Enthusiastic commitment to Net Impact’s mission
