This role is for canidates based in North Carolina and is a hybrid of virtual working and being in-person in Eastern North Carolina to manage programming.


Rural Opportunity Institute (ROI) is growing, and we are hiring an Innovation Program Manager to join the ROI team this summer. This role is a 1-year contract with potential for renewal and growth based on funding and performance. It is a hybrid role based in the Triangle / Eastern NC, and compensation is $65,000 - 85,000 per year. The Innovation Program Manager role involves executing and overseeing pilot programs with a focus on logistical excellence, adaptability, and continuous improvement to drive impactful outcomes. Potential examples include:

  • Medicaid in Schools: Leading the implementation of mental health services in schools, utilizing the Medicaid Billing toolkit to ensure care is provided to students across multiple rural school sites.
  • Biofeedback Breathing: Implementing biofeedback breathing programs within public systems such as schools and juvenile justice centers, promoting resilience and emotional well-being.
  • Job Pipelines: Developing trauma-informed job pipelines for justice-impacted youth, including managing initiatives like the Young Civic Leaders internship to empower and support community growth.
