Job Description
The SecondMuse Chief of Staff will broadly support the Leadership Team, with specific support for the Partners responsible for strategy, operations and secretariat. The Chief of Staff is responsible for improving the effectiveness and productivity of Partners and thus the company as a whole. SecondMuse has five Partners who form the Leadership Team and a total of 20 employees distributed across six US cities and Australia.
This is a full time position that begins in April, 2016. Posting closes March 14th.
Responsibilities:
Support Company Operations Mechanisms
● Company meetings
○ Produce a template for Leadership to use for regular company meetings, retreats and operating mechanisms
○ Own the content for these meetings; ensure that all content is up to date, accurate, presentable, and on-time. (May include content for company calls)
○ Organize the logistics for these company meetings and operating mechanisms
● Company policies, procedures
○ Conduct research on external policy and procedure best practices
○ Capture and contribute to conceptual thinking in the form of documentation for SecondMuse policies and procedures
○ Test policies and procedures with team members and gather feedback
● Company strategy and tactics
○ Conduct research on strategy topics including market, competition, opportunities
○ Capture and contribute conceptual thinking in the form of documentation for SecondMuse strategy and tactics
○ Collate presentations on strategy
Support Leadership Team (LT)
● Organize all logistics for LT meetings including calendar, conference call-in, agenda, and notes
● Drive Action Items for LT members including notes, email follow-ups, and updating any templates or docs
● Provide follow-up emails and calls in case LT or their staff don’t follow-up
● Publish rolling LT meeting Agendas and update as needed
Support Business Development and Client Engagement
● Participate in business development meetings (virtual and in person), take notes and develop client and internal follow-up documentation
● Ensure communication and follow-up with client occurs by scheduling meetings, corresponding through email and preparing partners
● Contribute to the development of proposals

● Strong relationship management, organizational and project management skills
● Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams
● Ability to work remotely
● Strong presentation development and writing skills: ability to convey complex ideas effectively using graphical concepts when appropriate using Powerpoint and InDesign
● Demonstrates application of conceptual frameworks to thinking and writing
● MBA with an emphasis in social innovation, corporate responsibility and/or human resources.
This role requires a physical presence in either Albuquerque, NM, Portland, OR, or the San Francisco Bay Area with ability to travel and flexibility to accommodate working with people in multiple time zones.
