GRAPHIC DESIGNER & CREATIVE STRATEGIST

BOWERS* is in search of a Graphic Designer & Creative Strategist to join the team. This position is a full-time remote job that pays a base salary of $50,000-$67,000/year. You will report to a client lead, depending on the project, such as the Digital Communications Manager, Senior Advisor, and/or the Founder and President, as needed. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced working environment.

As a Graphic Designer & Creative Strategist, you will use your expertise in graphic design, creative concepts, and storytelling to produce a variety of deliverables for many of our client projects. You will work with BOWERS* clients on creative, branding, social, and print design projects. You are expected to have a solid portfolio, along with excellent communication and project management skills. We’re looking for someone comfortable working within brand guidelines and churning out rapid response deliverables.

About BOWERS*

BOWERS* centers communities too often left behind by our political system. Asterisks (*) signify the supporting text that has been purposefully excluded from the main body text and pushed to the margins. We put an asterisk in our logo to highlight who we are, who we’re working for, and why we engage in this work.

BOWERS* is a fully-integrated strategic advisory, data, digital, communications and political consulting firm. The firm’s mission is to support progressive causes and campaigns that are tackling some of the biggest political challenges––domestic and international––facing society today. BOWERS* played lead roles in national campaigns to reform education for low-income and working class Black families; international campaigns to study and strategize about the future of work; developed strategic campaigns for Black Lives Matter for the past three years; created meaningful policy and lobbied lawmakers at the federal level for an omnibus bill that centers a new vision of public safety; managed statewide referendum campaigns such as California's 2016 referendum to legalize marijuana and No on Proposition 25; and managed local campaigns such as Measure R in Los Angeles, where we took on the world’s largest jail system and most corrupt sheriff’s department and won. Since our inception seven years ago we have managed 60+ campaigns, consulted for 20+ organizations, and led 10+ issue-based advocacy campaigns.

BOWERS* approaches each campaign with one key principle: that the phrase “it's always been done this way” is a detrimental saying and one of the greatest obstacles to creating real change. We place a premium on building innovative strategies that best serve our clients––and we are always on the right side of history.
