Good afternoon Marc,

Hope this message finds you well. I'm excited to share that Critical Exposure is now hiring for two (2) full-time Educator positions. Attached is the full job description. We are in an exciting place as an organization. We have the opportunity to grow our staff and are looking for the right people to help us deepen our impact on the youth we serve.

Will you share these openings with your network or with any individuals you think may be a good fit for the position(s)?

Below is some information about the positions. Potential applicants can view the full position details in the attached job description or online on the Critical Exposure Jobs page.

Applications for the positions are due by Friday, August 21st by 11:59pm. To apply, interested folks should email hir...@ciritcalexposure.org with a cover letter and resume, with “Application for Educator Position” in the subject line.

ABOUT CRITICAL EXPOSURE

Critical Exposure works with youth to use visual storytelling to document issues they face and run campaigns to make changes in their schools and communities. Through partnerships with schools and community-based organizations, we’re developing a generation of civic leaders who have:

  • The tools to express themselves.

  • The creativity to imagine new solutions to old problems.

  • The belief that youth have the right and ability to fight for those solutions.

  • The skills to hold communities and public officials accountable.

In order for long-term, structural change to take place, we believe those impacted most directly by an issue must be the ones who lead the fight for solutions. Our program staff work to develop the leadership capacities of young people so they can work collectively to effect change around an issue of injustice impacting them. Critical Exposure is not an organization that provides social services to youth or advocates on behalf of youth.

Program staff focus primarily on fostering youth-led campaigns by adapting and implementing our curriculum with D.C. youth. Our programs take place at multiple sites: D.C. public high schools, community-based organizations, and our own site. The ideal candidates will have experience facilitating workshops, guiding young people through a collaborative process and/or organizing campaigns alongside youth. Experience facilitating similar projects with low-income youth, youth of color, and/or youth in Washington, D.C. is a major plus.

People of color and people from D.C. are strongly encouraged to apply.

Best,

Delonte

Program Staff
