Greetings. 

I am delighted to use this platform to introduce 'Insha-e-Noor', a women's livelihood group based out of Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi. 

Insha-e-Noor was started under the larger project 'Humayun's Tomb- Sunder Nursery- Nizamuddin Basti Urban Renewal Initiative' of Aga Khan Development Network with an objective of creating crafts based source of livelihoods for the women residents of Nizamuddin Basti and thus improving their overall standard of living. 

At present the group constitutes around 50-70 members who learn and practice aari embroidery, sanjhi, crochet and garment construction and come up with some beautiful hand crafted contemporary products which are marketed through various platforms. Our products draw their design cues and motifs from the mesmerizing Humayun’s Tomb and other mughal structures situated in and around Nizamuddin basti.      

 

The group also specializes in job work (garment construction, embroidery and crochet embellishment) and has been working for clients like Fab India, Rangsutra, Indigene etc.

 

All proceeds from the sales of products go to the artisans.
