Design Trust Chicago is an emerging multidisciplinary civic impact design organization that partners with local leaders and communities to collectively envision an equitable built environment through the design of healthy, vibrant, safe, and thriving buildings, public spaces, streetscapes, spaces and places for all Chicagoans. Both embedded in Chicago social justice traditions and dedicated to advance design justice practices, Design Trust Chicago envisions collaborating with residents, nonprofits, and local government to explore design possibilities that center community experiences, and develop projects while redirecting resources equitably across Chicago.

We are hiring an Operations Manager!Design Trust Chicago is seeking a community focused, diligent, collaborative, and results oriented Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will work closely with senior leadership in the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan while overseeing day today operations.
What you’ll do
Organizational Development
⬞ Program management (design services program, volunteers, -- applications,
database, follow up)
⬞ Coordination of public programming, convenings and events including
scheduling, logistics, and development of outreach materials.
⬞ Research and identification of funding opportunities
Internal Administration
⬞ Budget management and reporting
⬞ Organize, manage, or review organizational assets and documentation (bylaws,
visuals, photos, narratives, administrative, etc.)
⬞ Coordination and administration of services of external consultant engagement
for grant writing, strategic planning, communications, legal counsel, and other
supporting professional services
⬞ Board management and documentation including materials, board meeting
coordination and sub-committee management
Outreach and Partnerships
⬞ Active stakeholder engagement and organizational partnership building
⬞ Development of written program outreach materials, including press releases,
website content, and materials for grants and other communications, as
required
What you’ll need
Required
⬞ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
⬞ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
⬞ Three to five years of experience in project management, oce administration
or related capacities
⬞ Proficiency with scheduling and coordinating in-person and online meetings
⬞ Comfortable in coordinating input from various organizations for public/private
collaboration, including multi-disciplinary project efforts working with allied
professionals such as architects, civil engineers, and developers
⬞ Strong organizational and collaboration skills
⬞ Proficient in MS Oce and Google Workspace
Preferred
⬞ Experience interacting, building relationships and managing communications
with stakeholders (e.g. board members, partner organizations).
⬞ Experience and interest in web design, creating landing pages, registrations for
events, and more (i.e. WordPress, Wix, Eventbrite)
⬞ Experience with email marketing and newsletter tools (i.e. Mailchimp)
⬞ Experience within or adjacent to community design (architecture, landscape
architecture or urban design).
