About the role

The Smarter Cities Challenge (smartercitieschallenge.org) is a signature IBM philanthropic initiative that contributes the skills and expertise of teams of top-talent IBMers to address key challenges facing cities around the world. Winning cities have used the recommendations prepared by Smarter Cities Challenge teams to make substantive progress on a diverse array of urban issues. The program’s impact has been recognized by the US Federal Government with the 2014 Secretary's Award for Public-Private Partnerships, jointly awarded by HUD, USDA, and the Council on Foundations, and was featured in New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristoff's "A Path Appears" as an example of highly effective service-based giving.
