A. POSITION PURPOSE

This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative and committed team working with a globally recognized social enterprise accelerator operating within Santa Clara University (SCU).

The Coordinator, Learning & Efficiency role is an entry-level position for a self-starting, highly motivated person, with strong analytical and data skills and a passion for social impact. The Coordinator will support the Learning and Efficiency team in areas including tracking progress on Miller Center’s work plan, collecting and analyzing data on participating social enterprises, and supporting all Miller Center team members in making best use of available technology tools. The Coordinator interfaces with all Miller Center staff, social entrepreneurs, mentors, partner organizations, and funders under guidance of the more experienced members of the team. The Coordinator has the ability to adjust priorities as needed and shows a positive attitude toward acquiring and developing skills and expertise. B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal data analytics and impact measurement (40%)

  • Work with Miller Center staff to ensure that all work plan milestones are being tracked and reported on regularly, including creation of tracking systems in GSuite and/or Salesforce, as appropriate
  • Analyze survey data from social enterprises and other stakeholders and produce reports for internal and external use
  • Explore enhanced data visualization methods to promote better learning, dissemination, and decision-making

Customer-facing impact measurement (20%)

  • Work directly with social entrepreneurs to advise or direct to appropriate resources related to impact measurement and management (IMM)
  • Work with program managers to bolster IMM training and mentorship within Miller Center programs
  • Coordinate training and management of a team of student assistants to provide hand-on IMM assistance to social entrepreneurs
  • Support customer research including special surveys, focus groups, interviews, or other methods

Technology platforms support (20%)

  • Support research that leads to improvements to database architecture, survey structure, and data collection methodologies
  • Work with external impact measurement platform provider to coordinate data sharing

General support to Learning & Efficiency team (20%)

  • Data entry into Salesforce and other systems
  • Support research, report writing, and creation of presentations for internal and external uses
  • Occasional event support with other team members, which may include logistics, setup, registration, technical support, and cleanup

Other duties as assigned

PROVIDES WORK DIRECTION

Provides work direction to student employees. Works cooperatively with other Miller Center staff, SCU faculty, and global partners. Leads cross-functional teams to ensure successful program delivery.

E. QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The items below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience required or preferred.

Required:

  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets)
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment. Treats internal and external stakeholders with attention and concern
  • Able to conduct research and synthesize findings
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently, balance competing priorities, and seek guidance from other staff members when appropriate
  • Able to acquire skills and any necessary credentials during employment with minimal support and guidance

Preferred or helpful:

  • Experience in social impact measurement
  • Understanding of relational databases
  • Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM platform
  • Familiarity with global development initiatives and the social enterprise movement
  • Experience living or traveling in developing world
  • Skills in any language(s) spoken in the developing world

Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.

Years of Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in administrative support roles.

  • May be required to occasionally travel to outside stakeholders.

This is a full-time fixed-term position.
