The Jeremy Lin Foundation (JLF) supports under-resourced AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) and cross-racial youth programs through community empowerment, solidarity, and narrative change.
About:
JLF empowers those in the community serving the marginalized, who are tackling the full range of barriers faced - whether it’s food security to mental health to youth empowerment. Over 13 years, JLF has partnered with 30+ orgs and served over 40K youth.
JLF’s approach is to center the community - we trust, listen, and support grantee leaders as they are most proximate to the community and youth needs. JLF provides funding and value added capacity support, and works with partners on strengthening the AAPI philanthropic ecosystem. With our unique platform, we share their stories and amplify their work.
Position Description:
Seeking a dynamic Manager to spearhead our foundation's strategic initiatives and catapult our impact to new heights! The Manager will lead and implement fundraising and communications strategies, and manage grantee relations and operations. There will be opportunities to actively participate in Board level strategic discussions and present to the Board. This person will work closely with, and report to the Executive Director. This is a full time role with room for career progression for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain substantive experience in managing a private family foundation, AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) and cross-racial issues, philanthropy, and partnerships. The Manager will benefit from collaborations and partnerships with grantees, funders, and community partners.
The ideal candidate is values aligned, proactive, detail-oriented and discreet, and has the flexibility and reliability to be a critical team player on a lean team. The candidate is excellent in communications, development, and operations, as well as in strong relationship management, judgment, and problem solving skills. Sample activities include, but not limited to:
Development: Drive fundraising strategy and manage donor events that open hearts and engage with donor partners, grantees, partners in community centered and nuanced ways. Lead funding opportunities and manage donor database and logistics.
Communications: Design and execute a compelling Communications strategy that inspires action and fuels the mission of narrative change. Manage social media (IG, Twitter/X, FB, LinkedIn - posting calendar, content, re-sharing stories), graphic design, website stories updates, newsletters, annual impact report, impact videos.
Grants Management & Operations: Develop strong grantee relations and lead landscape, ecosystem, and community based news and research, grantee convenings, tracking grantee and internal metrics. Support special projects and events, Board meeting preparations, compliance registration, internal operations
Qualifications and Experience:
Passion for the mission and strong belief in, and alignment with Jeremy Lin Foundation’s values and commitment to community, equity, and solidarity
Strong relationship-building abilities to develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, and a team player
Proactive, creative, and accountable problem solving attitude. Ability to navigate complex and nuanced issues and topics. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral)
BA/BS degree preferred. Interest in the nonprofit sector, and experience that intersects with program focus the Jeremy Lin Foundation supports is highly preferred
5+ years of work experience, with previous communications, operations, development experience is preferred
Proficiency in Google Suite, social media platforms, database systems (Airtable, etc)
