Job DescriptionAs a Front-end Software Engineer on our Technology team, you will contribute to CarbonPlan’s scientific and technical activities, serving a dynamic role that includes front-end development, data visualization, and content production support. If you’re excited about applying cutting edge front-end tools to help tackle hard climate problems, please apply!
You will:
Contribute to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our web stack,
Support the production of a wide range of web content, including static pages, interactive data visualizations, and standalone tools, and
Use the CarbonPlan design system to prototype, build, and iterate on public tools like compliance users and forest carbon.
You should have:
Passion for our mission,
5+ years experience building software for the web and/or doing design work (could include a mix of front-end engineering, web design, or similar), and
A portfolio of your work (e.g. open source code, websites, etc.).
You’ll be an especially good fit if you have:
Experience with, or at least a passion for, graphic design,
Experience with data visualization, interactive web tools, and/or web maps,
Experience using or building design systems,
Experience with React,
Experience with Next.js, and/or
Experience with WebGL.

BenefitsWe are committed to providing competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits to our employees. We offer fixed salary levels based on experience and role to minimize biases in compensation and to ensure team members are paid the same for doing the same work. Employees are eligible for promotion or salary increases every six months at the time of their performance review.
We expect this position to be a regular, full-time position, with an annual salary of $125,000 USD. However, we are open to some variance in experience, which may affect the resulting level and annual salary.
