Unique Opportunity in San Francisco, CA: Weal Life is recruiting a talented, user-centered designer in SF to champion our interaction design. Weal Life is in the business of making it easier for people to take care of one another. Our technology inspires connectedness and streamlines life logistics for people who are experiencing challenges related to a health crisis, chronic illness or aging. We are a public benefit corporation with a deep belief in the ability of our business to intrinsically improve lives through our product, change systems with our approach and be commercially sustainable with a foundation of ethical practices. As the UX Designer, you'll work with us to create designs that facilitate rapid prototyping and testing. Along with developing wire frames and navigation you will help us create the ideal product interaction. We seek an individual who can partner with the product team and values being part of a very small, diverse, fun and dedicated group. This project is initially expected to take 2-4 weeks depending on availability, and agreed upon scope and timing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop basic interaction design framework by understanding user goals and motivation
Validate functional elements
Define basic navigation/information architecture
Refine and validate key path scenarios
Group functional elements
Design the interaction for 1-2 critical user flows (minimum of 10 wireframes, w/2 states each)
Design primarily for smartphones ( iOS, Android) without intentionally limiting interaction on other platforms (tablets, desktop)
Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years experience in human-computer interaction, usability, or user interface design best practices. Visual design knowledge a plus but not required
Bachelor of Arts degree (or equivalent) in interaction, design or user experience
Working knowledge of mobile application design using HTML, CSS, Javascript. Software application design experience a real plus
Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle, Flash, Balsamiq, etc.
Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work under pressure
Portfolio of past projects that showcase talent
