Hi SDTIC community,

Our SDTIC SRCD "social hour" worked out very nicely.   We had approximately 25-30 people get together to catch up and meet new family members (babies!).

As the Planning Committee, we would like to solicit proposals for virtual meetings on topics of interest for our community for this upcoming year.  Last year, Larry Nucci's meeting was a good example. A theme was identified, speakers gave talks, and a panel discussed the issues with questions from the attendees. We had over 50 people attending.

Due to a lack of a funding stream and our current organizational structure, we have decided not to schedule in-person pre-conferences going forward.

We want to suggest that if any members plan to arrange for SDTIC "social hours" for upcoming conferences this year, such as for SRA, CDS, JPS, IJBD, DPS, and ECDP, let us know so that we can announce it and/or provide suggestions and tips.

Please send your proposals for a 2-hour virtual symposium on a topic of interest by September 15th, 2025.  Feel free to run preliminary ideas by us if that would be helpful. We will review the proposals and provide feedback.

Best,
Melanie, Franklin, Buse, and Wendy
