Job Summary: The Department of Psychology at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a full-time term Assistant Professor, to begin either January 2022 or August 2022, continuing through May 2023, contingent upon funding approval. This position seeks candidates who have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and interest in working with diverse student populations. Specialty area in Psychology: Open. Limiting moving expenses may be considered.

Job Responsibilities: We seek a motivated candidate to teach the following courses: Research Design, and a diversity-related course (for example, African American Psychology, Multicultural Psychology, Asian American Psychology, Psychology of Gender, or Psychology of Sexuality). An additional course may include: Biological Psychology, Psychological Statistics, or a course drawn from the applicant’s area of expertise. The teaching load for this position is three 4-unit courses per semester with service supporting the department, College, and/or University.

 

Minimum Qualifications: include a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field, or advancement to candidacy (ABD), by January 2022; University teaching experience; evidence of a strong commitment to teaching; a strong commitment to undergraduate mentorship; an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the University of San Francisco are required. The successful candidate must be able to offer their reflections on equity, and strategies for success in engaging with BIPOC students. Recent PhDs and those from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
