A "regular" player pays in advance for a full season and shows up to most or all games. A "guest" player pays a game at a time, and shows up whenever they can, IF there is an opening. We have a maximum of sixteen regulars per season. If you are not on
this list, you are not a regular, you are a guest.
Guests wanting to become regulars (after having played with us at least a couple of times) need only let us know. We will put you on the
waiting list. At the beginning of a new season, if we have any open slots, they will be filled from the waiting list. If you are on the top of the waiting list, and don't take the offered slot for some reason, you still stay at the top of the list.
One advantage to being a regular player is: you have a guaranteed playing slot. Guests can take a slot only if one or more regular players can't make it (guests must clear it with the person running the game beforehand). We field a maximum of eight players per team. We pick different teams every game.
Another advantage of being a regular is that if there is any surplus at the end of the season (e.g. from guest fees), it's used to pay for part of the next season, so returning regulars pay less than the full ten game cost. Regulars play most every week. Regulars are expected to know when the game starts, and to show up on time. Every time a regular is late for a game, their share of the surplus gets reduced by 10%, and they run the risk of losing their regular slot (see
TARDINESS section). As stated above, guests that show up late will not be given any discount. The full price for a guest slot is fifteen dollars! Be on the field READY TO PLAY at game time!
Regular slots are not transferable. If you can't make it to a game, your slot goes to the first person on the waiting list. You cannot assign your slot to a particular guest. If you can't make it for a season, you either pay to hold the slot, or give up the slot and re-join as a regular when a new slot opens up for you. As an exception, we will allow a slot swap for up to one full season in the case of an injury (soccer or otherwise) that would keep you from playing for more than a month. The slot will be swapped with the first available player from the waiting list.
