Well... hold the presses! It's never over until it's over.

I'm told the following: Herb's lawyers said that the management company had not followed protocol so we may have six more weeks of soccer. Herb will be there Saturday, so will probably have more info then.

There is a South San Francisco City council meeting next Wednesday at 7 PM to ask the city to help with keeping World Cup. Please plan to be there. We should pack the place!

Well, we knew this was a possibility, but it doesn't make it any easier.

Herb has gotten a letter from the property management company saying that he has to be out of the building on or about February 15th. So, our last game will be on February 11th. I'll be out of town for the next two weekends, so I'll see you on that final day.

We've had a good run. When I started this group back in October of 1999, I figured we would go for 10 games. I was close, only off by 7840%.

Regulars: If you've already paid for the full season, I'll bring you a check for the difference on the 11th. If you haven't paid yet, obviously your cost will be less, I'll send a new accounting in the next email.

BTW, this may not be over. Herb is still kinda interested in finding a new place, and I plan to talk with the folks at Sports House (even if it's a matter of putting together a team to play in their co-ed recreational league). Details to follow sometime soon. If anyone else wants to put together a pickup game here and there, or recruit for a league team, you're welcome to use this mailing list (but be forewarned, I very well may join and slow your game down).

I want to thank everyone who has played over the years for a lot of fun, and for putting up with my crappy play and OCD running of things (even if 73% of you never ever read the Rules and Procedures page). It's been a fun ride; you've been a great and considerate bunch of players. Thank you so much!

Remember the city council meeting is tomorrow night.
Please be there. Prepare a short statement letting them know that Indoor Soccer is a unique resource that we need to keep alive. There are fewer and fewer all-weather recreational amenities on the peninsula, the city should do what it can to help preserve indoor soccer.

See you tomorrow night.
