[Soccer] IMPORTANT! Read this!!

Some of you may have noticed the For Lease sign out in front of the building this Saturday. This is bad news, as the building has been sold. Herb's rent has been nearly doubled - raised to the point where World Cup is in serious danger of closing. Our group would be out of the place we have played in for the past sixteen years; and our friends Naleen, Jessica, and Herb would be out of a job.

We on The Peninsula have lost several recreational facilities in the last several years (mini-golf: gone; two skating rinks: gone; batting cages: gone; Malibu Grand Prix: gone)... we really can't afford to lose one more.

Tim has started a petition to ask for additional funding to keep World Cup open. 

Please sign the petition. You don't have to be a current player to sign or add comments - if you've ever had fun at World Cup, if you want others to continue to enjoy this valuable and unique resource, please sign. Please alert your friends and associates about this - soccer players or not, World Cup offers a lot to the community as a whole, not just us players (e.g. the reduction in gang activity that the SSF police brass noticed directly correlating with the existence of World Cup).
