Hi,

Some players suggested a party together and this idea seems very
welcome by the team. Let figure out the 4Ws (who, where, when, what)
and make it happen!

Who:
Everybody is welcome, including family, kids, kids' parents and
grandparents ...We will count the heads after the time and location is
finalized. Hope everybody can join!

When:
The suggested time is next Saturday (May 30th), or next, next
Saturday (June 6th). Please feel free to suggest any day and time
that good for you. We will pick a most popular time that good for most
members.

Where:
Jian Wei proposed a nice place: Westwood Club (http://
www.rbwestwoodclub.com/). Based on him, it is a nice place with BBQ
grill, swimming pool, tennis court, grass field etc. Many thanks to
Jian and he can make a reservation for us. Any better place?

What:
Please feel free to suggest what we do in the party. It should be a
fun party for everyone from toddler to old man (like me :) ). I can
think of BBQ and beer. Any facility or ideas are welcome. Our team has
$160 in total now. If out of budget, we can collect one or two dollar
from attendees.


Everybody please comment! Once we have a conclusion, I will summarize
everything and make an "official" party announcement.

Water ball and tennis are good ideas. And, I heard that the westwood
club also has nice grass field for soccer.
We can form different age groups:
0~1: watch ball
1~5: golf ball
5~14: water ball
15~50: football
50~80: tennis
80+: meat ball
any age: fly disc

Many thanks to JianWei and Ruhua (our new honor member) to reserve the
place for the team! We definitely need the contribution from all
members. Here is something that I think of:

Food:
- BBQ. I have charcoal. Maybe need to get some ribs from Zion market
- Beverage: Beer, water and other soft drinks
- Food: bread, Salad, fruit (from Costco?)
- Food: French fry, buffalo wins (from MFC?)
- Paper plate, cup, knife, spoon, and fork
- Pizza

Facilities
- I will bring the soccer ball
- Everybody can bring your own swimming suit and tennis gear
- Anything else?
- poker?

We can collect the receipt later and reimburse from the team treasure.

Thanks to everybody's support, we pretty much have all the helpers in
position. Just one thing, JianWei mentioned that the Westwood club has
4 BBQ grills. He will try to come earlier and reserve one but no
guarantee. In case that on grill is available, can anybody bring a
portable BBQ grill as our backup plan?


BTW, JainWei suggests that we play soccer first and then enjoy the
food. The winners can have wine and meat, and the losers will have
only water and bone. So all players please bring your best soccer gear
and as many supporters as possible...

Hi,

It is great that our group is getting bigger and bigger. Right now
we have 34 adults and 18 kids signing up for the party. Let's shoot
for this headcount to prepare food and drinks. Of course, later comers
are still welcome. Many members have volunteered to prepare BBQ, food
and beverage. Everybody is more than welcome to bring their signature
dish too!

If you are asked for tickets at the entry, JianWei's name is the
password. The security guard will let you in once you mention THE
magic name.


Thanks to all executive managers for the preparations. Please bring
the receipt to your secretary, which is me, for reimbursements. Since
we are having such a big party of historical record, our funding of
$160 might not be enough. How about $10 from each attending family?

Could anybody bring a portable BBQ grill in case we can not reserve
one in the Westwood club? Otherwise we might have to fight with other
parties ...

Realistically we have to use two gills to feed 40+ people at the same time. One grill is not enough already. I don't have the portable grill, otherwise I will bring it no matter we reserve one or not.

To use one gill, we'd better focus on hamburger or hot dog , other delicious foods are either too slow to cook or consumed too fast. My 2c.

Hi,

Thank all for the support! We had a great party yesterday. More
than 40 people attended our first team event. We played soccer,
tennis, golf and Snooker ... At time we finally had to go home, it was
already 8 o'clock at night. It is such a wonderful party that many
people suggested that we should have it regularly once per week/month.


I really like to appreciate all helpers on behalf the whole team.
They contributed a lot for the party in preparing the food, facilities
and reserving the place. I knew that many of them spent hours in
shopping and marinating the foods. Their contributions are the key for
the successfulness of our party. There are too many of helpers and I
can not name them one by one, but I would like to repeat: Thank You
Very Much! It is our honor to have you in the team!


After the good news, here is the bad news. Our team is more running
like the California government now: We are in deficit :(. Please see
the finial report below for details. We have to make profits in the
next party to keep our team away from bankruptcy. Anyway, if anyone
have not reimbursed or pay the $10 ticket fee yet, please let me know.
