It was really fantastic to be part of the inspiring discussions last
week and I am so excited there are so many motivated people over here.

I didn't raise this on Thursday as it is fairly specific but I would
be very keen to hear people's views on stakeholder participation from
the very start of an enterprise.

I am setting up a foundation (regular non-profit) which funds and
incubates triple bottom line enterprises within the cotton supply
chain (I've got a bit of a thing about cotton....) It's early early
days (we are still setting up bank accounts and getting registered
etc) but are already struggling with how to effectively and
meaningfully engage the stakeholders we are working with from the
beginning.

I guess my questions to the group are:

1) Can anyone point me in the direction of any good example where the
stakeholders are key from the beginning?

2) Can anyone suggest any good articles/ reports on the subject

3) Does anyone have any views on this- am I being too idealistic in
thinking I can do this? Will I create more value by establishing the
basis with a social entrepreneur and once we have something tangible
start bringing in their thoughts and views?

4) Does anybody know any organisations that specifically look at this
either in India or East Africa? In India I am working with an org
called Praxis so far.

Would love to hear any thoughts, views or advice on this. This is
something I am very very keen to incorporate into my model making.

Hope you are all well and look forward to our next discussion,

Big thank you,

Emily
