The easYgen-3000XT Series controllers operate gensets of all sizes and applications. These controllers include specifically designed algorithms and logic to start, stop, control, and protect the genset, circuit breaker, and the utility where applicable. This technology allows standardizing on a single, affordable genset controller for distributed power generation applications. These applications can range from single stand-alone emergency backup power to parallel load sharing of multiple gensets in complex, segmented distribution systems with multiple utility feeds and tie breakers.
RP-3000XT is a touch screen remote control and annunciation panel for use with the easYgen-3000XT Series controls. It is particularly useful with the back panel mounted easYgen-3100XT/3400XT, providing control from the front panel with greatly reduced wiring to the access door, while keeping high voltage connections located safely on the back panel. It offers all the HMI resources that the display variant easYgen-3200XT/3500XT offers, but with state-of-the-art touch screen technology.

The Woodward easYgen-100 series is designed for a single-generator set used in isolated stand-by or prime power applications. The controllers include purpose-built algorithms and logic to start, stop, control, and protect the genset, and open/close circuit breakers. Equipped with state-of-the-art communication interfaces, Woodward's easYgen-100 Series of genset controllers provides exceptional versatility and value for OEM genset packagers.
It sounds like this is for connectiong to a PC simply changing it to RS485 is most likely not enough unless it is intended to support modbus though this connection. The netbiter settings are managed under Management > configuration for the device. You would need to set the gateway settings for the serial interface then add a modbus template along with a device to the netbiter.
Hi @deryck_hms, thanks for your response. please can you explain in detail how to go about setting up the Netbiter console for this integration? I already have a mini-USB to RS485 converter available and currently finding it difficult to set up the Netbiter side of it.
Is this designed for the Generator controller? I am trying to help you make sure the device does what you expect. What is it doing at the protocol level? is is just a usb to serial converter or is it more advanced and talks to the generator and is a a modbus device on the RS485 side?
For setting up a device I recommend setting up a Profile for the device. You will need a template mapping parameters to modbus registers. In the Profile you will configure all the parameters along with defining the gateway settings. This is then added to the netbiter to configure the hardware.
Hi Deryck,
Thank you for the response and explanation. This is clearer for me now and I understand how I will set up the device with the cable provided and then need to program the Netbiter with the proper Profile for communication.
For that profile, the device that I am looking to monitor is the FG Wilson DCP-10 generator controller. Does HMS have documentation of the Modbus registers and mapping as you described which I can use to set up the device profile? I believe this would be the last piece of information I would need to get this set up with my Netbiter unit.
Thanks again for your help with this.
I had originally only checked out template list and didnt see it but the name seemed familiar. Double checking we actually have a prebuilt template for that particular control panel. The should make setup for you easier. From your netbiters configuration tab you should be able to run the wizard to add this device. This will add the profile to your account preconfigured. This will also add a dashboard. image1403863 59 KB
Anyone who depends on a generator for emergency power understands that the generator is only as good as its control unit. The control unit must be dependable when switching from utility to standby power. At Taylor Power Systems, we understand this and have designed control units with the user in mind. Our Microprocessor-based Control systems provide a versatile system for gen-set control, protection, and monitoring. The panel's back-lit LCD display provides readout of all critical information with digital accuracy - assuring complete engine protection. The microprocessor design allows customization of the controller's functions to fit virtually every application's needs.
The DGC-2020 is a microprocessor based generator set controller that incorporates advanced technology and features into a user friendly rugged design. The DGC-2020 provides integrated engine-genset control, protection, and metering. Front panel controls and indicators enable quick and simple operation. This device is encapsulated and is the most rugged genset controller found anywhere. It can sense engine parameters directly via analog senders, or it can communicate with engines ECU using SAE J1939 CANBUS communications.
The RDP-110 is used in conjunction with the DGC family of Digital Genset Controllers to provide remote annunciation of the emergency standby generator system. This panel complies with the requirements of NFPA 110. The DGC detects an alarm or pre-alarm condition and communicates via RS-485 to the RDP-110. The RDP-110 is available in two mounting configurations, surface and semi-flush mount.
Our analog control panels are built for dependability and ruggedness, with large analog gauges that enable the user to monitor load and other functions at a glance. Our analog control panel will automatically start and monitor engine conditions in order to protect your investment.
The module is compatible with electronic (CAN) and non-electronic (magnetic pick-up/alternator sensing) engines and offers an extensive number of flexible inputs, outputs and extensive engine protections so the system can be easily adapted to meet the most demanding industry requirements.
