Hey all,

I just finished activating Snow Crown W6/SS-132 for the first time and had one of those moments. You know, the kind where everything slows down like in a horror movie when something bad is about to happen? Except, this time, it was my original KI6J tuner (with parts picked up in person from Stu) that has been on over 100 activations  with me since 2012 slowly sliding down the crack between two slabs of talus at 12,400 feet. Yeah, no bueno.

I’m using a 17/20/40 EFHW with homemade traps, so need to replace this tuner. I may switch to 20/30/40 in the future. What are you guys using for tuners for antennas like this these days? I’m familiar with the qrp guys offering, but see they’re not shipping until the end of October. Having something in a small, lightweight case to prevent damage would also be ideal. Let me hear your recommendations!

Thanks,

Tim

Tim,

Nice job on Snow Crown!

There is a good video from 2017 where Bob Burd's Sierra Challenge for Day #7 was Gould, Falcor & Snow Crown.  Ever since seeing that, I had an eye on Snow Crown.

Congratulations!

As for tuners, I use a linked end fed have wave tuned to my CW freqs - so no help there.
