SOTA friends: Is anyone interested in a SoCal SOTA get-together/camp-out the weekend of Oct 19-21st in the Big Bear area?

My plan would be to head up somewhat early Friday afternoon to secure one of the many dispersed camping sites in the Holcomb Valley area, North of Bertha Peak. I'll let you all know exactly where I'm camped, and you can join the group Friday evening or some time Saturday.

I plan to activate peaks in the area on Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday.  The area is also known for some quality off-roading, and excellent rock climbing for anyone interested in alternate activities.

Let me know if you're interested, share with others you think might want to join in, and as we start to build a head-count, we can firm up some additional plans.

I'm in. It'll be fun to meet some of the other SoCal crew.

I would go but I'll be at Pacificon. I suspect at least a few others will be up there as well.

Maybe next time.

Hi Adam,

I would be interested if I can get my teardrop camper to one of the dispersed sites.  Alternatively, I could bring a tent, or head to Hollcomb Valley campground that has 19 single-family campsites available on first-come-first-serve basis. I would likely go up Thursday if going to campground.

Best regards,

Gary

Ah crap, I fortgot that. What about the following weekend (27-28th)?  Would that be a better option?

Adam

I’d live to come.

Great idea on a meet up and given Pacificon any chance to reschedule post election (Nov 6th) ??

Thanks Paul. The big difficulty up there is that we'll be getting into the potentially stormy/snowy months and Big Bear may no longer be an option. If we push into Nov, I may need to ID another location (desert, perhaps?).

I’d love to come but I’m still a wandering M/ land hence the post election suggestion.

That way we can also commiserate our favorite/unfavorite candidate did/didn’t make it......

Hey Adam

Its your party and find a date that works for you and the other So Cal guys!

Maybe we could all have a social drink one night in Nov/Dec to celebrate SOTA somewhere in South OC or Northern ND counties.

I may be interested but it's going to depend on the final date; my schedule for October is way up in the air at the moment. I'll update if there are changes.
