There is the VHF contest this weekend starting at 11am running through
Sunday. Should be easier than usual to scare up qso's than usual on
simplex. Try holding your antenna horizontal for those stations that
only have horizontal polarized antennas. And if you are ssb capable
on VHF and or UHF (say an FT817), definitely give that a whirl.
They will ask for your 4 character grid, but that's easy to lookup.
Or tell them where you are and have them look it up for you.

My buddy Keith KM6NMK and I Garret KM6OIN, will be on mt waterman. We will probably sit up there all day. It's our first contest and his first SOTA activation.
