Sunset Beach Kiteboard Area Location and Rotation Schedule
The Kiteboard Launch and Land zone will consist of a beach set up and
launch/land zone and an in-water entry and exit zone. The beach set
up and launch/land zone will be marked by barricade signs and
checkered flags positions at the berm line and back beach. The beach
set up and launch/land zone will span two streets in length by
approximately 200 feet the width of the beach. The water entry and
exit zone will be marked by two white cylindrical marker buoys set in
the shape of Y that is offset to the south which will accommodate the
diagonal approach kiteboarders take to and from shore due to the
predominant northwesterly wind.
The Kiteboard Launch and Land zone will be rotated at the approximate
half-way point of the summertime period to alleviate the impact the
zone has on non-kiteboarder beach patrons and residents. The zone
locations and rotation schedule are as follows:

NO FLYING KITES ON BEACH EXCEPT TO LAUNCH AND LAND
SUNSET BEACH IS RECCOMENDED FOR ADVANCED KITEBOARDERS
