WASHINGTON (CNN NEWSOURCE/WKRC) - Another member of the US congress
has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to her official Twitter account, representative Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez is recovering at home with coronavirus symptoms
Sunday.
The democrat from New York writes the positive test comes despite
the fact that she had been fully vaccinated, including a booster
shot this fall.
Ocasio-Cortez joins a growing number of US representatives who have
tested positive, possibly because of the surge caused by the more
contagious omicron variant.
Those include fellow democrats Jim Cooper of Tennessee and Sean
Casten of Illinois, who also tested positive for COVID over the
weekend.
