Okay here is a list in no particular order and with minimum explanation:

Adrienne Barbeau (it was a tit thing and she wore very tight sweaters)
Lindsay Wagner (the scar on her upper lip made me gush)
Linda Carter (that tit thing again)
Mackenzie Phillips (something about that bad girl on drugs thing)
Jody Foster (but only in the movie where she was raped then fought back --
a white trash thing)

The sister from Good Times
The black carribean nurse from St. Elsewhere (Madge Sinclair -- major top
energy)

The latina cop from NY Undercover (see the film Like It Like That -- that
Bronx Nuyorican thing)

Dorothy Alison (the voice and accent when she reads)
Cheryl Clarke (especially with the full head of white hair, but only from
afar)
Hilary Kay (folk singer and ex-girlfriend. The only one who can still make
me shudder with lust and anger)

Anita Baker (See her Rapture concert video)
Nona Hendryx (black chaps with ass anging out -- Damn!)

The sister from Good Times (Thelma) makes my list, too. And so does Madge
Sinclair. How bizarre. I've been trying to construct this list for several
days and those were two of the first women to pop into my mind. Others for me
would be:

Nikki Giovanni
Young Janet Jackson (during the Dif'frent Strokes years)
Angela Y. Davis (my mom built her up to hero status in my mind)

And the inference of the "personal is political" drags on...

FYI, she didn't post two names (out of a list of
what, 14?), one ostensibly African-American
from a 20+-year old sitcom, and another actress from a
show called "NY Undercover" supposedly latina.

Gabe,
If memory serves, several of the women on the list were of
African descent, and *they* were named. Hey, I think the NY Undercover woman
(who is latina in real life too) is quite cute, but I can't remember her name
either. Is your implication that she didn't put these names on the list
because she is somehow dissing African American and latina women? Would it
make any difference if the person who had the memory lapse *was* African
American? I don't know that she is or isn't, but I know that she is one of
the few (if not the only) women who listed people on her crush listed who
were not white. I found that refreshing. I don't know. I guess I'm still a
little confused about your implications.

unless i missed my guess GREATLY, i think you sorta missed gabe's point. i
think that post is saying exactly the opposite, in response to a previous one.

Thanks for responding, beth. Actually, Gabe was not the person I was
responded. I used Gabe's name accidentally, when she actually was not the
