HOAX OF THE "HUMAN SKIN LAMP SHADES" DEBUNKED!

Holocaust propagandists (including Barry Shein and Danny Keren in the
<alt.revisionism> newsgroup) are STILL claiming that Nazis made "lamp shades
out of human skin." I have debunked this untrue story several times before.
Now I debunk it again.

From "Buchendwald: Legend and Reality", by Mark Weber, printed in _The
Journal of Historical Review_, Vol. 7, No. 4 (Winter 1986-87):
General Lucius D. Clay, Commander in Chief of U.S. Forces in Europe and
Military Governor of the U.S. Occupation Zone of Germany, 1947-49, carefully
reviewed the Ilsa Koch case in 1948 and found that [...] the lampshade
charge was baseless. He [...] informed the Army Department in Washington:
"There is no convincing evidence that she [Ilse Koch] selected inmates for
extermination in order to secure tatooed skins or that she possessed any
articles made of human skin."*1 During a 1976 interview Clay recalled the
case:
We tried Ilse Koch. ...She was sentenced to life imprisonment,
and I commuted it to three [four] years. And our press really didn't
like that. She had been destroyed by the fact that an enterprising
reporter who first went into her house had given her the beautiful
name, the "Bitch of Buchenwald," and he had found some white lampshades
in there which he wrote up as being made out of human flesh.
Well, it turned out actually that it was goat flesh. But at the
trial it was still human flesh. It was almost impossible for her to
have gotten a fair trial. [...]
And those are the kinds of things that we had to deal with all the
time.*2

When I was in elementary school (fifth or sixth grade), our class was
required to watch a movie -- entitled "Evidence of Evil", if I remember
correctly -- which was said to be "based on actual facts".
In this purely fictional propaganda movie, a group of evil American
"Nazis" were planning a "Nazi convention" and went around "denying the
Holocaust." The villains in the movie had "smuggled" a "Nazi relic" -- a
"human skin lamp shade", to be precise -- into the United States through
Mexico, in order to bask in the "glory" of it during their "Nazi
convention", or something ridiculous like that.
This fictional lamp shade supposedly "proved" that the "Nazis" were
evil monsters who "knew the Holocaust happened but were trying to deny it
anyway" and also supposedly wanted to "finish the job"! At the end of the
movie, the head "Nazi"'s son was shot dead, and the rest of the "Nazis" were
all apprehended by the authorities for possession of the "human skin lamp
shade."
The "human skin lamp shade", which was supposedly a reality ("based on
actual facts"), was actually nothing more than a HOAX that was put into the
movie for propagandistic effect, in hopes of brainwashing people (like the
unsuspecting grade-school children in our class).
The movie was highly dramatized, to say the very least, and the most
melodramatic moment was when the "human skin lamp shade" was "unveiled".
The ridiculous propaganda flick made "true believers" out of
practically the whole class. I know because the class kept discussing the
movie and its "lessons" for about a month afterward. Students spoke of the
"human skin lamp shade" as "proof" of the "Holocaust" story, even though it
was a totally fictional element in the movie, with no connection to reality.
One of the "lessons" of the movie was that evil "Nazis" could be
ANYWHERE, and that they were probably our NEIGHBORS and even FAMILY MEMBERS!
(Witch hunt, anyone??)
For those who have seen the movie version of George Orwell's _1984_
(starring Richard Burton and John Hurt), the indoctrination we went through
in school is extremely reminiscent of that scenario. The following scene
from the movie _1984_ is especially similar:
After Winston Smith (the protagonist) finished fixing the plumbing
under the neighbor lady's sink, her young boy said to him for no apparent
reason, "You're a Thought Criminal!"
That's precisely what we were all being trained to be -- vile,
finger-pointing little boys who would track down "Thought Criminals" for Big
Brother, and who would grow up to be even more dangerous versions of the
same. Not only that, but we were being cultivated as "true believers" in
the "Holocaust" story.
That movie was only one of the MANY "Holocaust films", "Holocaust
lectures", "Holocaust readings", etc. that we were put through in grade
school (to say nothing of high school or college!)
The really alarming thing is that THIS SITUATION IS FOR REAL! Does
anyone realize the enormity of this?

Actually, it is the responsibility of THOSE MAKING THE ASSERTIONS IN
THE FIRST PLACE to substantiate them! The people who made the propaganda
movie mentioned above should have substantiated their claim about the "human
skin lamp shade", as well as their other claims.
When I saw that movie in elementary school, I wanted to know WHERE the
lamp shade was, and how I could verify that bizarre story for myself.
If I had made the movie, I certainly would have included substantiation
of my claims. But NOOOOOOOOOO, "Holocaust" propaganda notoriously does NOT
provide substantiation, particularly not the kind that a scientist or
investigator would find useful. But that's the kind of substantiation
reasonable people should expect and demand for such claims!
It appears that General Lucius Clay is a "Thought Criminal" even in the
upper echelons...undoubtedly a very sneaky "Nazi" and "Holocaust denier"!

Many people seem to have difficulty telling the difference between
reality and fiction, particularly when fiction is portrayed as a
"documentary film" or one "based on actual facts", and especially when the
viewers are young and being encouraged by authority figures to "believe."
But it seems that what makes nearly EVERYONE buy into these "Holocaust"
propaganda movies IN PARTICULAR is the following kind of "thinking":
"How could ANYONE call the 'Survivors' liars?!? Be a GOOD person and
BELIEVE what they tell you...FEEL what they tell you to feel...HATE who they
tell you to hate...Don't be a BAD person and QUESTION any of it...Don't
doubt! Now, don't expect them to SUBSTANTIATE their claims! Don't you dare
be skeptical! Never question! Just FEEL and BELIEVE and go along with the
flow... Don't rock the boat... Don't doubt the guilt of the condemned
Thought Criminals... Here, watch another melodramatic propaganda movie with
us... Join in our group fantasies... Scapegoat, blame others..."
I believe that in order to be a good person, one must also be a
responsible person. To be responsible, one must also be skeptical!

Hey, skinhead, get a life! Post what you want (I would never suggest
muzzling you or even getting you distemper shots), but give us a
break and post your followups to alt.drek. Guess I'll have to contact
netcom.com and see what can be done about redirecting your default
posting priviliges to alt.dev.null. Too bad you can't get a daily
exposure of sunlight at high or low latitudes. UV has a salutory

reply to this one. I set the followup to "alt.revisionism".
Gannon posted an article written by Mark Weber, a White supremacist
and a self-admitted Hitler admirer, who claims that no lampshades were
made from human skin at the Buchenwald camp. Weber is one of Gannon's
standard sources, and Gannon posted his claim many times before.
In order to once and for all find out about this, I mailed the
"Institute for Contemporary History" in Munich, Germany, and asked
them. They were kind enough to mail me a few pages taken from a book
about Buchenwald. I still haven't translated the material; when I will,
it will be posted to alt.revisionism.
The material sent to me does include some photographs of certain
ornaments discovered at the camp, lampshades and others, and the
caption reads: "Tatowierungen und Lampenschirm aus Menschenhaut".
I don't know what "Tatowierungen" means, but if I am not mistaken,
the rest of the sentence means ".. and lampshades from human skin".
Also, the material contains the well-known photographs of the shrunken
heads of prisoners which were hanged in the camp. These shrunken heads
can be seen in the movies about the liberation of the camp. In the
Holocaust related GIF library, there is a picture of one of them.
I am quite sure that, at some stage, Gannon will claim these are really
goat's heads.

the American, Gen Clay, believed that Ilse Koch did not do what she was
convicted of.
But for the sake of argument, let's assume old Ilse Koch never did nuthin'
to nobody... how does that debunk the attrocity of using human skin for
manufacturing lamp shades?
I agree with the previous response to your posting concerning a desire to
see your posts gated to alt.drek. There is certainly no practical use, in
my opinion, in defending the Nazis.
The holocaust happened and has both Jew and non-Jew witnesses and survivors.
Don't quibble on behalf of Nazis, past and present.
