3. Easter Party for Kid-O's and Families!
SISTERS CELEBRATE 22ND ANNIVERSARY WITH INDULGENCE IN THE PARK, AN
EASTER PICNIC FOR ALL FAMILIES
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc. invite families of all shapes
and sizes to pack their picnic baskets full of goodies and celebrate 22
years of fundraising and social activism with a fun-filled afternoon in
Dolores Park on Sunday, April 15th from 12 pm - 4 pm. Indulgence in
the Park, a picnic for all kinds of families, is cosponsored by All Our
Families Coalition, COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere),
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) San
Francisco, Marriage Equality California, My Best Friend Pet Supply, Pulp
and the Eureka Valley Teen Program.
Activities for kids will include an Easter egg hunt, a cupcake walk, and
glamorous face-painting. The Sisters will host Easter costume contests
for children of both the human and canine varieties, as well as the
traditional Easter Bonnet and Hunky Jesus contests for adults later in
the afternoon. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume in each
category. The entertainment line-up includes the happy sounds of Djay
Clay, the sultry music of Connie Champagne, poetry by Arias and Aragon,
sketch comedy by Please Leave the Bronx, and Trauma Flintstone
performing selections from ODC Theater's new production of Queer.

4. Jewish Family and Children's Services of the East Bay is offering a new
Support Group for LGBTQQ Youth.
The group is open to high school age youth who are lesbian, gay,
bi-sexual, transgender, queer and those questioning their sexual and/or
gender identity. This seven-week group is offered at no cost and no
parental consent is required. It is a SAFE and CONFIDENTIAL group that
meets at our offices in Berkeley. It will meet Mondays at 4:00 pm
beginning on Monday April 23rd.

5. Call for Support for Santa Clara High School
EVERYONE is showing support by sending, cards, letters, balloons, flowers,
etc. ...the more the better.
The problem: The GSA display at the international week event was vandalized
and the rainbow flag was stolen. Some students are harassing the GSA and the
school newspaper is not sympathetic.
The solution (we hope) is to show that hundreds are watching in support.

The Intergeneration project will be launched as a part of the National
Queer Arts Festival 2001, with the presentation of the 1st
Intergeneration Performance Series. This program will offer new works
in poetry, performance, improvisation, psychodrama and short digital
videos created by the artists of Intergeneration. The series will
continue in September of 2001 and will be expanded to include an
exhibition of photography, paintings, digital works and the launch of
the Intergeneration Website. Intergeneration hopes to offer some
solutions for helping deconstruct some of the negative impacts ageing
has on the quality of Queer lives and in some small part help contribute
to fostering a richer sense of community regardless, of what age we find
ourselves. All programs are free to the public.

Intergeneration is an interdisciplinary arts project that is building
community between Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender youth, seniors
and queers of all ages through the creation of paintings, photography,
video narratives, digital works, psychodrama, storytelling, short
performances and poetry. Members of the Queer community have joined
project founder, Frank Pietronigro, and other professional artists for
ongoing Intergeneration Creative Workshops. During these meetings
participants engage in dialogue about the issues of aging, generation
stereotyping, building community and mentoring. The participants then
use such themes to guide them in the creation of new works of art that
will be presented free to the public through the Intergeneration
Exhibition, Performance Series and Website.
INTERGENERATION FOUNDERS STATEMENT:
"By actualizing Intergeneration, I believe that greater community
discussion will be generated on the phenomena of ageism within our
community and the gaze of our attention can focused, in part, to
something I experience as diminishing rather than fostering community.
Such an exhibition and readings will give voice to a topic, which I
believe, has significant negative impact on our community for both young
and old alike. It seems to be a topic we avoid and relegate to our
individual and community shadow, supported in part by personal fears of
aging reinforced by the onslaught of ageism advertising. Our community
is growing up yet we tend to avoid that which is inevitable for each of
us and for our community as a whole.
Hopefully, Intergeneration will offer some solutions for helping
deconstruct some of the negative impacts ageism has on the quality of
our lives and in some small part help contribute to fostering a richer
sense of community regardless at what age we find ourselves."

Queer visual artists, writers, performers, photographers and new media
artists are encouraged to add their voice to the upcoming
Intergeneration Performance Series, Intergeneration Exhibition (Planned
for Fall 2001) and Intergeneration Website. Intergeneration is seeking
creative works that build community across generations and respond to
the theme of aging as experienced within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgender Community. Intergeneration seeks works that are
collaborations by queers of different age groups and/or works that are
created by those artists who participate in the ongoing Intergeneration
Creative Group Encounters held monthly.

GEORGE BIRIMISA CAST CALL FOR TURNING
April 5, 2001, San Francisco, CA - George Birimisa, founder of the
Intergeneration Writing Workshop, is currently casting for Turning, a
short play about Ageism in the queer community written by James McColley
Eilers. Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2001 at 12Noon,
at the Jon Sims Center For The Performing Arts, 1519 Mission Street, at
11th Street, in San Francisco.
Mr. Birimisa is seeking old, middle-aged and young members of the
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Communities for Turning. The
play's World Premiere will be presented on June 3, 2001, at 2:00 p.m.,
as a part of the National Queer Arts Festival 2001, during a free
Intergeneration Performance Series. Held at the San Francisco Public
