So, why is it that as soon as money gets tight, its the disabled who have to
bear the brunt of the cuts?
Are we really such a shallow society that we can only call the independence
and comfort of disabled people worth having when times are good, and sod
them pull up the ladder I'm all right jack when they are bad?

I'm all for re evaluation of the cases as long as its not used as a means
to reduce needed funds and only used to chuck off the spongers. The money to
rejig the rules to exclude the needy, would be better spent in making
employers employ disabled people, particularly blind ones who seem to get
the scrag end of every Government initiative.
In many peoples views in the disabled world, people disabled in adult life
are much less able to adapt. Children who are blind for example tend to do
better than adults in employment. Also, equipment should be made available
to those looking for work, not when they get a job as now as no employer is
going to hire someone who they have not seen proved can do the job.
So, I doubt if government folk read this, but all the recent changes and
knock on effects will basically mean blind people being on the poverty list
again after a brief holidy. No reall way to get employment as their support
in employment services, conexions etc, are bing axed.
So, Mr Conservative , stuff that in your arse.

Brian
