I have been surfing the net and reading everywhere about this MWMF , WBW /
Camp Trans issue. I hear people saying how one is more a woman than the other.
Well, real women are the backbone of this world. They are doers not talkers.
Lets be doers and be a part of that which we feel.
"Not until all of us start acting respectful, will we ever gain
respect."
I went to fest last year under false information and pretenses. I had
originally thought of being a part of camp Trans. ( I didn't know what they
were truly about. Luckily I went in and all was well with me and my concerns,
especially association with Camp Trans.) However, I had gotten there 6 days
early. I then decided to go in and the thoughts or questions of me being
anything than what I appeared were not asked. However, I did realize that I had
to hide my past or be removed. I kept my mouth shut and did my work and fit in.
Thats all i did. I just fit in.
This year I decided personally
1: That I was against Camp Trans and their efforts of the prior year. And again
of their efforts this year.
2: I was not coming to fest, with years of herstory, that most of these women
have.
3: I realized that I had only me to give and if I wanted respect for my lack of
growing up years, I should have something to offer in it's place.
What if we women, who have not transitioned in our teens (living full time
then), and ""we know who we are"", were to spend the next 5 years doing
something positive for the community of women on a whole. We could all report
back in 5 years and come to Fest with what we have learned and done. We would
have something of vital use to offer the fest and the women, who go there. Then
we will be appreciated and could hopefully see, change in attitudes about this
issue. I would much rather be invited to fest, because I have something to give
rather than force my way and never get a ""real"" feeling of acceptance. This
is my goal. I hope more will join me in this venture.
PS: Don't tell me you have been working for women, cause you have been doing
some kind of transsexual Women's work to better them. They / we / me are such a
small part of the contingent of women on a whole.
NOTE: However, I am sure at this time, there already is some reassigned
women, who has already done such work and qualify to my thoughts of true work
for women as a whole. So, For those women, We, could now take our turn and do
our part for womankind. as a whole. They can deal with fest on their own. We
who haven't done much could get started on that 5 year journey to bettering
womankind.
So the question is, What have you done for women, as a whole in the last 5
years?
Not until all of us start acting respectful, will we ever gain respect.
Please feel free to pass this message around along with my email address.
See you at Fest for the 30th anniversary
