Hi there eveyone, I finally made it, here I am. To those of you
from Iowegia, thanks for all the replys, sorry it took me so long
to come back. To the rest, HI HI HI, I'm new and I want to meet
as many new and interesting people as is humanly possable. If you
ignore the fact that I can't spell to save my life, I'm really
quite adorable.
I live in Iowa and I don't know anyone at all. I don't have
anyone to talk to and I figured maybe this way I'd at least get
some mail. That is if anyone responds to my note.
So, if any of you out there have a thing for tiny little gothic
brunettes who love to read, write creepy poetry and cause her
parents unending distress due to her "indivuality", than I am the
tiny little gothic you should be talking to.
I hope I get lot's of reply's, I can be very friendly when I feel
like it.

Enjoy the Moon
Peace

What do you mean, just lots of corn?

What about the CGW shops in Oelwein? (misspelled for Geog

Lake? And the CRANDIC? And all of the east-west railway

If nothing else, Iowa contains lots of railroad fanatics. And

Back in the winter of '74 when I was driving across the USA to Eugene,
Oregon, I came upon Cedar Rapids wherein was a branch of the state U.
(I think it was C.R. - we're talking 19 years ago!) I pulled into a
dorm parking lot just as it was beginning to snow heavily, asked some
passing students if they thought it would be OK if I overnighted in my
van in their parking lot. They said I'd freeze to death - better that
I'd sack out on their floor. They even bought me meal in the cafeteria -
I wasn't poverty-striken, they were just nice people. Never saw any corn.

I don't know how to explain it. I guess it's more like a way of
thinking. I really don't know, I'm sorry...I just can't explian

I'm so glad you asked this, because my opinions on this subject
are very strong. Graham's law is the gueding force in my life and
everything I do and say revolves around it. Of course I think the
common formulation of it is useful, what other formulation is

Graham's law of relationships has been recognized for centuries.
Archaeologists have found mention of it in the ancient Sanskrit
writings. The law is very spacific. It covers all possable kinds
of relationships from marrieage to a stint with the neighbors dog.
It is in fact, the first law of relationships to actually
recognize the neighbors dog as a viable partner in a relationship at
all.
Further study is odvioulsy required on your part. Do you read
Sanskrit?

I guess in a way I do resemble the girl in AG. I do dress simply,
though very dark and I don't know about looking, but I sure feel
worn by life. The other thing...I guess I should have brought up
is that I have been DESCRIBED as a gothic by other people. I have
a very hard time talking about myself, so I tend to use the things
that others have said to do it. I figure they wouldn't have siad
it, if it weren't true.
I should also say this...'cause if I don't I might get flamed.
Just because I use the things that others have siad to describe
myself, doesn't mean they aren't true. It jsut means they came up
with the best way of saying what I couldn't.

OK, I guess I have to explain this AGAIN. No offense to you for

Dali once rated a chimpanzee as being a better painter than Pollack. Of
course, he may have felt that way because the chimp, unlike Pollack, always
used a brush. (I'm a Pollack fan, though, and the husband of my first cousin,

Well, you can hang on the Wall if you really want to (but, even though
Jeff posts from Nyx, he's really farther from here than you are), but
if you're careful I'll probably let you play with the toys--just do be
careful: don't get fingerprints on the blade of the snake sword (though
there are a few other swords that have seen enough action that they won't
be bothered by a few fingerprints); no shooting the crossbows indoors;
and, even though the flail does make a dandy backscratcher, it can still
take out a goodly chunk of drywall if you're not careful.

(Of course I reserve the right to take pictures if you start doing
anything particularly interesting--a while ago someone of more average
stature wanted to try on my floor-length chainmail robe (with full-
length, angel-style sleeves) and, since she was much shorter than I and
doesn't have a 38" sleevelength, she looked like a metallic penguin;
it was terribly amusing.)

Based on several suggestions, I'm recommending a Mini-boink in NYC for
Saturday, May 1.

If you're interested, Mysterious Bookshop is having an open house that
day, with autographing by a bunch of Edgar Allan Poe Award nominees
(the awards will be given out the previous day).

Other bookstores worth visiting include Gotham Book Mart ("Wise Men
Fish Here") (so I can replenish my supply of "So many books, so little
time" buttons) and the Strand (which measures its stock in
shelf-miles). Further suggestions, both bookstore and otherwise, are
welcome.

be having that open house.]

I like them both, as do many other people. Both were about equally
skilled as artists, and therefore were kind of "competition" for the
other. Pollack ventured off into some very different abstractions,
while Dali's track at least retained some degree of reality.

Pollack could drip like no one before or since.

take off they're clothes to get "high" :)

Good--because I don't feel that it's necessary to take off my clothes
in order to get "high"; how about we take off your clothes instead?

<snork!!!!>
Maybe one day you'll be "amighty big bitch" but for now you just look
like a very small female puppy: cute, appealing and innocent! I have
to wonder if there wasn't more going on in your mind than made it into
your note.

I guess it could all come back to that fundamental communication
problem: how to ensure that people get the message we're trying to
send. I think it's quite common for people to think they've said
something explicitly when in fact they've only thought about saying it
or have given a vague implication but no direct explication.

Maybe that's what happened here.

Speaking of unusual billboards...There was one near here that said
only "Four Times A Week is OK." That's it. No pictures or anything
else. Later I saw a commercial that used that slogan to indicate
that is was allright to eat eggs four times a week.
