Because if you can have sunny weather one minute and rainy weather the next,
the ride had better be *damn* good if you don't want irritated customers. BTW,
the weather seems to like to stay rainy, especially if you are trying to have
fun.(insert as many smileys as you like, your terminal will make more!)

The tilt-a-whirl --- the most fun you can have legally and morally.
Part of the thrill is whether or not it's going to fall apart whilst
you're tilting and whirling.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at DisneyLand. You drive through a haystack, get
hit by a train, die, and go to hell. What more can I say?

It's got to be my first love Cedar Point in Sandusky. I started going there
when I was 14 and I still love it. It's a roller coaster paradise.

It's a tie between the Blue Streak and Gemini. I like the Blue Streak because
you don't have to wear a seat belt (try it while holding your hands in the
air). The Gemini is great for all the twists and turns which have been
built in.
On a related note for the roller coaster officiando's out there in net.land,
which way is best to ride in a roller coaster?

Disneyland comes in second, ans Six Flags Magic Mountain (Valencia, CA)
can't be beat for roller costers.
I visit amusement parks everyplace in the world where I can find them as part
of my travels. My favorite rides:
The Viper and The Revolution at Magic Mountain.
Star Tours (Disneyland/DisneyWorld).
All of EPCOT Center (Disneyworld) with Horizons in particular.

I've done that on the Blue Streak. Gemini blows so much wind in your
face it's hard to appreciate the ride itself. You really need the cap,
goggles and silk scarf to get anything out of Gemini.
But both of them pale in comparison to aerobatics. A roller coaster
cannot do anything which an airplane can't, and the airplane can match
the coaster's bag of tricks and more... And the cap, goggles and scarf
certainly are appropriate!
On a 'coaster, the risk is all 100% (well, 99+%) in your head. In the
air, the 4-point restraints, the mandatory parachutes, and the doors
which part company with the airplane with the tug of a "D" ring let
you know deep down in your gut that this is *serious* fun.
Plus, you don't have to wait in line for the next twist & thrill spell. ;-)
One of these days I'm going to learn taildraggers so I can rent Citabrias.
Cessna Aerobats are *so* limited.

They also had these little carts that ran down an "alpine slope"
(actually a ski slope -- the park doubles as a ski resort in the
winter). I wish I had gone on the really fast slope but I was not
sure if I could control the cars.

And speaking of coasters, there is a new kind of coaster in development
right now which looks like it should be interesting. The cars will use
two sets of wheels, one above and one below the track. Which wheels are
in use can be changed at whim. Makes for a real tight corkscrew effect.
Does anyone know if and when and, more importantly, where such a coaster
is being or will be built? I can't wait to try this one out.
