Greetings fellow fans of reddened tails! Been ages upon ages since I
last posted here. Heck, been ages upon ages since I had last looked at
any newsgroup.

Got inspired to find a news server and get reacquainted with SSS as well
as ASSM after coming across my old entry for the 2004 SSC (The Missing
Lynx, and having my encouragement to get back to writing renewed after
reading again the comments from 2 of the judges: Eric, and especially
Pablo.

So anyway, how much of the Old Guard is still around on this group?
Just looking at the first couple screens of headers, I am seeing a few
names that I recognize (Elka, Y Lee, nadia, and Pablo to name a few),
and many that I don't remember.

And Pablo, if you are reading this, and you remember your comments on my
little SSC04 entry 8 years ago, there will be plenty more development of
the Beastlands and its immortal denizens, in what I hope to make a
compilation of short stories known collectively as Tales from the
Beastlands, with The Insatiable Lynx being my next entry.

Anyhoo, feels good to be back here and I hope to be involved regularly
with this group soon.

I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. There's no one left here but Brian.
Look at the dates of the posts.

I keep visiting with baited breath but noting is posted.

Even when I posted a tale or two there are no comments - good or bad.

I am sure there are many that look in at times and even Tony & Co with all the experience
can tell a tale or two?

Steve

That sounds like a bit of a troll to awaken those who are here. as with
anything if everyone just sits there and does nothing it looks dead. the
issue here is that the one place has been fragmented by the web sites and
forums, so there are a lot more places these days. the snag with this of
course is that each goes to their own favourite place and wherever you look
you see less activity generally.

Actually, I'd noticed at times that despite putting spanking in or zzz in
the headers, posts can end up missing altogether, with no bounces.

I must echo your comments as Pablo will testify as I have asked why my posts haven't
appeared despite the ZZZ or Spanking in the text...

A few of us are still around. I mostly lurk these days but I pop in to say hi myself once in a while.

Pablo recently resigned as a moderator, but I believe Tony, Mija and Barrister are still around.

We have an alumni group over on Fet Life if you're active on that site.

I check here now and again, but I don't believe any of the moderators
are currently active.

With regard to Fetlife. All web sites I find hard going. at least on news
the interface is just shortcut keys and thing appear in windows and there
are no active areas, no sluggishness no searching for controls amongst an
unknown field of links buttons and withlayout unknown, life is too short to
keep messing about.
In may ways what needs to be done for us blind folk is a standard forum
layout so that maybe a client could be made that presented the main
controls in the same way all the time.

I can of course see that when you can see the overview of a page and thus
see the links all at the same time you can quickly use them, but for those
who only see the current object I fear they will always be a pain in the
wrong place.

That's a Rejuve Universe story serial, right?

IMHO it couldn't hurt to post one here...
